Old Redford Academy is hiring a Cross Country Coach for the Fall 2026 season!

Position Overview  

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Cross Country Coach to join our athletics team for the Fall 2026 season. The successful candidate will have a passion for developing student-athletes and supporting the head coach in the effective delivery of the cross country program. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain coaching experience and work with athletes to help them achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting training sessions, practices, and team meetings.

- Support individual athletes in their development of skills, endurance, and overall performance.

- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that enhances team spirit and cohesion.

- Provide strategic input during competitions and assist in game-day operations.

- Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and competitions.

- Monitor and support the academic progress and personal development of student-athletes.

- Assist in the recruitment process of potential student-athletes, maintaining records and communicating with prospects.

- Help organize and manage logistics for meets, including travel arrangements, equipment, and uniforms.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in cross country, either as a coach or competitive athlete, is preferred.

- Strong understanding of the sport, including training techniques and strategies.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect, integrity, and sportsmanship.

- CPR/First Aid certification is an asset.

- Availability for all scheduled team practices, meetings, and competitions during the season.
